PL/APL Youth Hostelling - oct '01

Well, me and Adam joined them at dinner on the saturday because we
had to enrol in Aquinas College,
but mainly due to Rob Sandoe they were an hour and a half late
because they "didn't judge the time properly", I  think they just walked too
slowly meeting us.
We walked from Bakewell to Castleton via the Limestone trail, and had fun
along the way. After arriving we soon found the youth hostel, and settled in.
Food was cooked in the communal kitchen. Later we all played manhunt
around Castleton.Sproson, adam and I bought a pizza with 4 cheeses and pepperoni from a local Italian restaurant. We were out till half ten.
The next morning after breakfast we packed away kit and started to do one
(Leave - probably not in a rush. ed). We walked back through Edale to Hayfield,
but along the way we met sum Ashton scallies (Schoolkids) on a school trip,
and futhermore got them into trouble with their teachers for racing them down
a big hill, we won of course. We stopped in Edale and them moved on.
We climbed Jacobs Ladder having eaten lunch at Edale cross,
Next we walked to Hayfield where we got a well deserved (Yeah right!!.) bus home.
Overall the youth hostels were good, they had good facilities, and the
necessity, a TV! Sandoe and Ducky were usually at the back, with Thorpey, Ian
and Pieface at the front.
No river falling in, but we did have to walk through 2 pires, these are where
they burnt the sheep who had foot and mouth, extremely dirty!!
Following a strike action by several reporters we had to rely on the pikey scouts themselve.  However Mathew Rodgers is one who aspires to be part of the editorial team and so sent in this report even though he didn't go on the whole thing. A Marple scouts chequebook and pen winging their way to him.
Send you reports in and enjoy this young whippersnapper's account.........
