Gala Night
Camp has officially opened! We’ve had another fantastic Gala night, this time with a classical Indian menu. With the scouts dressed up, twinkly lights, gourmet food, and 7 variety acts, it was a night that will live long in the memory!
Scouts
Scouts (11 – 14 years old)
There are two Scout troops in Marple, with Kinder (twitter) meeting at the Scout Hut on Tuesdays, and Cobden (twitter) on Thursdays, from 19.30 – 21.00.
There is currently a waiting list for both – sign up via the join form to be added to it.
Whilst both troops meet up separately, there are many activities that they do together – with the annual Easter Camp and Summer Camps a particular highlight, as well as Gang Show, joint walking days (and nights) and other ad hoc activities.
They also face off against each other in the Ian Corbishley Battle of Marple (twitter), when they compete at various challenges across a whole weekend before having a final assault course to decide which troop has bragging rights for the next year!
What we’ve been upto…
Swimming
We’ve set up camp already and have even had time for a dip in the sea – I’m reliably informed that it’s not as cold as last year?!
Kinder Walk and PL’s Expedition

Marple’s 50th Gang Show
Congratulations to all the Scouts and Guides involved with Marple’s 50th Gang Show, it was fantastic!!! Hamper Deliveries
We are meeting on Christmas Eve at Scout Hut 5pm to deliver hampers and sing carols. Family and Friends welcome to come along. See you there!!!
Cobden Scale New Heights
Cobden are back at Rope Race for our annual climbing visit, with the scouts getting high on… just about any rope they can find! We’re got some talented little climbing monkeys with us, putting some of the older ones to shame (including the leaders!)
