There are two Scout troops in Marple, with Kinder (twitter) meeting at the Scout Hut on Tuesdays, and Cobden (twitter) on Thursdays, from 19.30 – 21.00.
There is currently a waiting list for both – sign up via the join form to be added to it.
Whilst both troops meet up separately, there are many activities that they do together – with the annual Easter Camp and Summer Camps a particular highlight, as well as Gang Show, joint walking days (and nights) and other ad hoc activities.
They also face off against each other in the Ian Corbishley Battle of Marple (twitter), when they compete at various challenges across a whole weekend before having a final assault course to decide which troop has bragging rights for the next year!
So it’s currently 12:30 and after cooking their own breakfasts we’ve finally managed to get off the campsite! It’s scorchingly hot thankfully, giving us a chance to dry out, and take in the local sights, like the ruins of the castle… Our yellow shirts are taking it by storm! 🙂

We’re making the most of the sun by taking the Scouts up to Linnet Clough. We started early so we could fit in a game of Manhunt, and have since moved on to Quick Cricket while we wait for the burgers to cook!

Cobden Scouts are doing our bit for Scout Community Week! We’ve taken the scouts to Brabyns Nursing Home, armed with trowels, bedding plants & enthusiasm, in order to try and make it a nicer place to live!
