Good evening and welcome aboard the minibus as we return from coasteering, Babbacombe award winning fish and chips, and finally Torquay amusement arcades. Christmas tunes are on and the sugar excited scouts are exclaiming ‘Merry Woodmas’ to all around. They sound quite happy and full of cheer! Jumping around the coast went down very well

Woodmas is just minutes away! Our patrols spent the night playing a real-life version of the 1980’s classic computer game ‘Woodmas’ which involved them dressing up as Father Woodmas, his Reindeer, and two wood-elves! Our after party around the Woodmas tree ended with a bang!

Today saw Stage 1 of the Tour de Devon. Setting off from Sidvale Scout Camp heading to Beer. The stage started with a gentle ride past the donkey sanctuary, then a long shallow down hill in to Barnscombe then a long steep slog that broke up the peloton. Then a final decent into Beer itself.

We’ve spent the afternoon having a pleasant stroll along the country lanes around the campsite, to see the local attractions. JJ and Matty Thomas shared the honours in the crazy golf, whilst all the scouts were winners when we treated them to their daily ice cream (at the Donkey Sanctuary). More pictures later…
